Brand Brain
Brand Brain
The canon. Versioned, attributed, queryable across every product area.
Brand Brain is the canon. Every product area reads it. Every artifact cites it. Every approval names a human against it.

Three properties of every canon entry
- Versioned. Every entry has a version number. Edits create v2, not overwrite v1.
- Attributed. Every entry names the operator who approved it.
- Queryable. Every product area can ask Brand Brain "what does the canon say about X" and get the answer with provenance.
Three-level data model
Brand Brain holds three levels of data:
- Portfolio. The masterbrand and any sub-brands. Inheritance rules between them.
- Identity. The strategic and visual canon. Foundation, strategy, voice, visual system.
- Operational. Active campaigns, calendar entries, regional variants, ongoing programs.
The first onboarding session populates Identity. Operational fills as the operator runs work in the six product areas.
How product areas use Brand Brain
| Product area | What it reads | What it writes |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy Studio | Foundation, strategy, audiences, competitive frame. | Frameworks, briefs, positioning artifacts. |
| Content Engine | Voice, channels, guardrails, audiences. | Channel-specific content. |
| Creative Lab | Visual system, voice, guardrails. | Asset drafts, iteration grids. |
| Intel Desk | Competitive frame, audiences, channels. | Weekly digests, trend reports. |
| Brand Guard | Every section. The full canon is the rule set. | Verdicts. Approval and override records. |
| Open Canvas | Every section, queryable. | Whatever the operator authors. |
Refreshing the canon
A canon is not static. Refresh paths:
- Targeted edit. Open the canon section. Edit. Brand Guard re-checks dependent rules.
- Full re-validation. Re-run the eight onboarding stages. The new run produces a v2.
- Operational additions. Campaign-level entries fill the Operational level without touching Identity.
The canon outlives any single campaign. Edits leave a trail.
